It took over a year of planning, brainstorming, research, design, and much more for me and the team at SDPcreative to complete the J.R. Tobias Museum & Education Center. Located at Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax, PA, the museum pays tribute to the park’s founder J.R Tobias and serves as a hub to educate the visitors on the park and its animals.
While Heidi Dressler, Scott Smith, and myself had worked on every aspect of the museum my main focus was on concept drawings, 3D modeling the building for more accurate layout and mockup of the floorplan, and the development of Section A or the Bear Corner; aptly named due to the stuffed bears on display that were donated to the park. Development of this section required extensive research of proper font sizes and display heights of text in museum settings, correct rail system heights for ease of legibility for adults, children, and the handicapped, copywriting, and much more. Below are examples from the early stages of design to the finished product.
